Home Euthanasia

We offer compassionate in-home and in-clinic euthanasia, helping families say goodbye in a peaceful, supportive environment that honours the bond they share with their beloved pet.

A Peaceful Goodbye, Surrounded by Love

Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is one of the hardest parts of sharing our lives with them. When the time comes, we’re here to provide compassionate care, comfort, and support for both you and your pet, helping you say goodbye in the way that feels right for your family.

For some families, this means saying goodbye in the comfort of our dedicated comfort room at the clinic. For others, being at home, surrounded by familiar sights, comforting scents, and the people they love, offers the greatest sense of peace.

We offer both in-clinic and in-home euthanasia options, allowing you to choose the setting that feels most comfortable for you and your pet.

Saying Goodbye at Home

Home is often where our pets feel safest. It’s where they rest in their favourite spots, enjoy familiar routines, and spend time with the people who mean the most to them.

Choosing in-home euthanasia allows your pet to remain in a familiar environment, whether that means resting in their favourite bed, lying beside you on the couch, enjoying a sunny spot by the window, or spending a quiet moment in the garden.

There is no single right way to say goodbye. Our goal is to make this time as peaceful and gentle as possible, giving you the space to be present with your pet and surrounded by the comforts of home.

What to Expect

When you arrange an in-home euthanasia appointment, a veterinarian and veterinary technician will come to your home to provide compassionate, professional care.

We understand how emotional this experience can be, and we will guide you through each step with patience and sensitivity.

A gentle, individualized approach

Sedation is provided to help your pet feel calm, relaxed, and comfortable. Our team will explain the process, answer your questions, and guide you through what to expect, allowing you time and space to say goodbye at your own pace.

Time with your pet

Every family experiences this moment differently. You may wish to hold your pet, sit beside them quietly, or gather your family around them. We will respect your wishes and support you in creating an environment that feels right for you.

Compassionate support throughout

You don’t need to know exactly what to say or do. Our team is there to support you, explain each step, and help make an incredibly difficult experience as gentle as possible for everyone involved.

Aftercare & Memorial Options

Deciding how to care for your pet after they have passed is a personal part of saying goodbye. We offer several aftercare options and can help you understand what is available so you can make the decision that feels right for your family.

These options can be discussed with our team before your appointment or during your visit, depending on your preferences.

You don’t need to have every detail figured out in advance. We’re here to answer your questions, explain the available choices, and give you the time you need to decide.

We offer two different types of aftercare:

Fond Farewell

Fond Farewell offers a gentle, environmentally conscious alternative to traditional flame cremation through aquamation, also known as water-based or flameless cremation. Families can choose private aquamation, with their pet’s remains returned to them, or communal aquamation. A selection of personalized urns, paw prints, and keepsakes is also available to help families honor their beloved companions and preserve their memories.

Gateway Pet Memorial

Gateway Pet Memorial provides compassionate, dignified pet aftercare services to help families honor the lives of their cherished companions. They offer private, individual, and communal cremation options, along with personalized memorial products such as urns, paw prints, and memorial jewelry. Their team is committed to treating every pet with respect and helping families navigate the aftercare process with care and understanding.
